About ADC Volunteer Programs

Our Mission: Encouraging ADC people to contribute time, talent and financial resources to the community.

While the ADC Foundation has a strong focus on education and closing the digital divide, ADC recognizes that its employees care deeply about many causes that are not included in these strategies. To encourage employees to contribute time, talent and resources to the community, ADC has developed two important ADC Cares Programs along with its efforts to promote volunteerism that offer assistance worldwide. Also, in North America, United Ways and other federated funds are generously supported.

Dollars for Doers

The Dollars for Doers program honors the significant volunteer service of any regular U.S. ADC employee. An ADC employee who has provided at least 40 hours or more of volunteer service over the prior twelve-month period to a qualified, non-sectarian charity may apply for a grant of $500 for his or her organization. All such charities are eligible to receive these awards. Since the program recognizes the importance of the gift of time, it does not require that the volunteer contribute financially to be eligible for recognition in this manner. This program is not open to employees outside the United States.

Matching Gift Program

The Matching Gift Program is designed to match any regular U.S. ADC employee's charitable gift (in any given fiscal year) of $25 or more. The Foundation will match a total of $1,000 per employee per year. These gifts must be made to qualified, nonsectarian charities or charitable programs of public institutions. This program is not open to employees outside the United States.

ADC Employee Volunteers

At ADC everyone is guided by the ADC Way-five values, which are the hallmark of ADC culture. One of these values-integrity-is well exemplified by the time and commitment ADC people make to the community through volunteering. At local ADC business sites, ADC Cares Committees and individual employees think about what needs to be done in their community and then go about rolling up their sleeves, enlisting others, and doing it.

ADC employees can be found painting and repairing houses, running food drives for the needy, holding gift drives at holiday season for poor children and their families, mentoring young students, teaching classes, sitting on nonprofit boards, etc. Employees volunteer their skills and talents in a myriad of ways that ADC helps facilitate through organizing such activities and through its Dollars for Doers and Matching Gifts programs.

United Way Fall Fund Drives and Other Community Fund Drives

Vision: Wherever ADC does business around the world it is seen as a leader in good corporate citizenship.

Through fall fund drives for United Way, ADC provides the opportunity for ADC employees in North America to give back to their communities through payroll deduction. Traditionally, the Foundation has provided the incentive for giving by partially matching every employee-raised dollar. This includes all pledges, one-time cash donations and revenue raised from special events that many locations hold in conjunction with their campaigns. In this way ADC employees and the ADC Foundation provide for the myriad of social and civic needs in ADC business locations where ADC employees live and work.

In the Twin Cities of Minnesota, ADC also supports three other federated fund organizations besides the Greater Twin Cities United Way: Community Health Charities, Minnesota Environmental Fund, and United Arts.
